CPJRC Signs MoU with COMSATS

On November 27, CPJRC and Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the COMSATS headquarter in Islamabad, Pakistan. Mr. Nafees Zakaria, Executive Director of COMSATS, Prof. Hong Tianhua, Executive Director, and Dr. Lei Yu, Deputy Director of CPJRC, attended the signing ceremony. Ambassadors to Pakistan from Bangladesh, Morocco, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe, as well as the embassy representatives of Somalia to Pakistan, witnessed the signing.
The MoU was pre-signed by Prof. Kang Shichang, Director-General of CPJRC and Director-General of IMHE-CAS, and was formally signed by Mr. Zakaria during the ceremony, marking its official entry into effect. This MoU establishes a framework for collaboration in scientific research, technology, and policy between the two parties, opening a new chapter for jointly addressing global challenges and promoting sustainable development.
COMSATS, established in 1994 as an intergovernmental international organization, comprises 27member countries and 25 Centers of Excellence. Its aim is to bridge the gap between developed and developing countries through the effective application of science and technology and to promote sustainable development in the Global South. Its headquarters and secretariat are located in Islamabad, Pakistan, with the head of state of Pakistan serving as its first Chairperson, and its operations and development are supported collectively by the member states.
Both COMSATS and CPJRC staff participated in the event.
