China-Pakistan Joint Research Center on Earth Sciences

China-Pakistan Joint Research Center on Earth Sciences (aka., CPJRC) is scientific research and talent education institution established by Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan on the basis of Document of Understanding between Chinese Academy of Sciences and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan for the Establishment of China-Pakistan Joint Research Center on Earth Sciences. The research center is hosted by Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMHE, CAS), and is located at Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan.

CPJRC serves as the bridge and platform of scientific research and education cooperation between China and Pakistan in the field of on earth sciences. As a China-Pakistan collaboration platform, it also focuses on such areas as natural disasters, ecological environment, resource development and sustainable development to promote the construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Since the preparation in 2019, remarkable progress has been made in scientific research, talent cultivation exchange and cooperation, making contribution to the construction of CPEC. In the future, CPJRC will will also unswervingly promote scientific and technological development and cooperation between China and Pakistan and the construction of the CPEC.
