Training on UAV Remote Sensing Theory and Disaster Management Practice Held in Islamabad

From November 17 to 20, the "International Training Course on UAV Remote Sensing Theory and Disaster Management Practice," jointly organized by CPJRC and National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan, was successfully held in Islamabad.
At the opening ceremony, Professor Muhammad Irfan, NUST, delivered a welcome address. He emphasized the increasingly crucial role of UAV technology in modern scientific research and disaster management, encouraging participants to make the most of the opportunity to learn from Chinese experts and improve their technical application skills. In his speech, Prof. Hong Tianhua noted that as a key platform for China-Pakistan scientific and technological cooperation, CPJRC has already conducted multiple training sessions in Pakistan on themes such as disaster prevention and reduction, data sharing, and emergency response, and will continue to contribute to building regional disaster resilience.
The training curriculum was comprehensive, covering core modules including fundamental UAV remote sensing theory, data acquisition and processing, and disaster monitoring and assessment. Associate Professor Shi Pilong and Senior Engineer Li Dong from Aerospace Information Research Institute of CAS (AIR-CAS); CPJRC Special Research Assistant Nazir Ahmed Bazai; and Professor Javed Iqbal and Assistant Professor Shahid Nawaz Khan from NUST gave the lectures.
During the training, participants also visited the NUST Science and Technology Innovation Park to understand the practical applications of advanced technologies in Pakistan. At the closing ceremony, Professor Muhammad Irfan and Professor Hong Tianhua jointly presented training certificates to the participants. Over 20 trainees from Pakistani universities, research institutions, and companies participated.
