The 2nd International Conference on Climate Change and Disaster Risk (The 2nd Announcement)
Publisher:
time: 2025-08-05
With global warming, extreme weather events are becoming more frequent, while natural hazards are spreading wider and becoming more severe. Large-scale, compound and cascading disasters pose serious threats to human society, particularly to the safety of people’s lives and properties. Research on climate change and disaster risks has emerged as a critical issue of global concern. Following the successful organization of the “1st International Conference on Climate Change and Disaster Risk” in Islamabad, Pakistan in October 2023, China-Pakistan Joint Research Center on Earth Sciences (hereinafter referred to as CPJRC) plans to collaborate with UNESCO Chair for Mountain Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience, Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment (IMHE), Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research (IGSNRR), Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Quaid-i-Azam University, Pakistan to hold the “2nd International Conference on Climate Change and Disaster Risk” in Beijing in October 19-20, 2025.
