Scientific objective:
The research area 3 shall focus on scientific and technological problems in the prevention and control of major earthquakes, mountains, meteorology, marine disasters prevention and desertification prevention in the CPEC, concentrating the research on the disaster background, dynamic process, disaster effects and prevention and control technologies, and systematically understand the mechanism of major disasters and disasters caused by the coupling of internal and external dynamics of the earth, leading the forefront of major disasters research under complex and difficult environmental conditions, researching and developing key technologies for major disaster risk simulation and prediction, monitoring and early warning, comprehensive prevention and control, and emergency disaster reduction, promoting the construction of disaster risk management technology systems, in order to serve the China-Pakistan technological cooperation and the construction of the "China-Pakistan Economic Corridor".
