Meeting to Advance CPJRC’s Campus Design Held in Islamabad

On January 29, 2026, CPJRC held a meeting to advance campus design work in Islamabad, Pakistan. Representatives from both China and Pakistan, including Prof. Hong Tianhua, CPJRC Executive Director, Dr. Lei Yu, CPJRC Deputy Director, and Prof. Mumtaz Shah, Head of Department of Earth Sciences at Quaid-i-Azam University, attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the design institute provided a detailed briefing on the design plan for the first phase of the CPJRC campus construction. This included the overall plan layout as well as the floor plans for individual buildings, such as the administrative building and the laboratory building. The attendees conducted in-depth discussions regarding the floor plans of specific buildings and proposed a series of suggestions for optimization.
Prof. Hong Tianhua emphasized that as an international cooperation platform jointly built by the two countries, the campus design must balance the practical needs of future scientific research. He stressed the importance of integrating Chinese and Pakistani architectural aesthetics, upholding a philosophy of openness and inclusiveness, and aligning with international standards.
The design institute, the National Logistics Cell (NLC) Construction Company, stated that they would accelerate the design optimization work in accordance with CPJRC's requirements. They aim to commence construction on schedule in line with the overall construction timeline.
