CPJRC Invited to Share Practices and Experiences in Selecting International Students

On January 22, to further improve international student cultivation, the Department of Human Resources and Education (Graduate Department) of the Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment (IMHE), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), held a meeting on international student recruitment and training for 2026. Prof. Su Lijun, Deputy Director-General of CPJRC, was invited to share experiences. Mr. Huang Dingcheng, Director of International Students Office at University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), and Ms. Yao Caiyun, Director of Graduate Department at IMHE, also participated. The meeting was chaired by Ms. Yao Caiyun.

During the meeting, Prof. Su Lijun comprehensively introduced CPJRC’s practical explorations and experiences regarding the selection and cultivation of international students, as well as its efforts in promoting scientific and technological cooperation between China and Pakistan. His insights provided valuable references for further advancing the collaborative cultivation of international talent.

Other participating supervisors engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as international student selection mechanisms, optimization of training models, and improvement of management services. The attendees unanimously agreed that international students are a vital force in promoting interdisciplinary integration and enhancing the institute’s international influence. They emphasized the need to further optimize recruitment mechanisms, strengthen the whole-process cultivation, and actively create an open and inclusive academic and cultural environment.

Nearly 30 supervisors interested in recruiting international students, along with relevant staff from CPJRC, attended it.
